Academies in Latin America
    • Real Madrid

The Foundation's Sport Academies are the tool with which the Club projects the Real Madrid brand on non-sporting activities, such as education or social assistance, outside of Spain.

Since its creation, the Real Madrid Foundation has wanted to build Social Integration Academies in order to help underprivileged children through sport. This project was soon implemented in Latin America when different countries and organisations were interested in the possibilities the practice of sports like football and basketball had to offer.

These children, especially teenagers, need special support and attention. The formation they get through solidarity, social service and sport guarantees their success in every day life and improves on their employment possibilities in the future.

The goals of the Social Integration Academies transcend the sporting arena and extend to that of social assistance. The main objective is for these schools to eventually become Integral Assistance Centres to help mitigate the lack of means and resources needed to cover children's basic needs.

There are currently Academies in Argentina, Chile, El Salvador , Panama, Ensenada (Mexico) and Mexico D.F. Agreements to open new schools in Uruguay and Sierra Leone will be signed shortly.
